Our Projects
Revera develops and delivers renewable energy projects that accelerate the energy transition to a cleaner, more resilient future. Our portfolio spans solar, wind, battery energy storage, and green hydrogen initiatives across Australia and the UK. Every project is strategically designed to drive lasting impact for communities, the energy network, and the planet.
The United Kingdom
Already a market-leader for renewable energy production, the United Kingdom is accelerating its shift to sustainable power infrastructure. Based in London, our team of 10 professionals manages the construction and development of our 1.2 GW energy storage portfolio, comprised of three 400 MW projects across Central Scotland.
STORAGE
Energy storage is essential for the UK’s renewable energy transition, supporting wind and solar generation during adverse conditions. Our advanced battery systems maintain grid stability as conventional power facilities retire. In the United Kingdom's island electricity network, these projects are not just investments but crucial components that convert variable renewable resources into reliable power.
Project
Windyhill
Windyhill BESS is a 400MW / 800MWh energy storage project located in Bearsden, Scotland, approximately 10km North-West of Glasgow City Centre.
With planning approval granted by the Scottish Ministers in 2022, the project integrates seamlessly into the adjacent SP Energy Networks substation via a 132kV transmission connection.
The project will provide flexibility and stability services to the UK electricity network, contributing to national energy security for a 40-year operational design life.
Incorporating a post-operational decommissioning and site rehabilitation strategy, the land used by this project will be reinstated following an approved decommissioning plan, incorporating land and legislative requirements.
Project
Hunterston
Hunterston BESS is a 400MW / 800MWh BESS energy storage project located in North Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland. The project will deliver grid-scale energy storage to SP Energy Networks’ 400kV transmission system.
A mile from the now decommissioned Hunterston A & B Nuclear Power Stations, the site is well positioned to deliver constraint management and grid stability services to the broader network, enabling the ongoing build of renewable energy generation in Scotland.
Private 400kV Substation construction is in progress at Hunterston, following planning consent in 2022 from the Scottish Ministers, in preparation for commercial operations in the near future.
At the end of the project life, the project site will be reinstated in accordance with the approved decommissioning plan, land agreements, and legislation of the time.
Project
Kincardine
Kincardine BESS is a 400MW / 800MWh energy storage project situated in Kincardine, Scotland. The proposed project is located north of the River Forth, about 40km northeast of Glasgow and northwest of Edinburgh.
Proximity to the Kincardine substation provides convenient access for the project to connect to the 275kV transmission system and contribute much-needed flexibility to the electricity grid, which is experiencing increasing grid constraints brought about by new offshore wind farms in North-East Scotland.
The Scottish Ministers granted planning approval for the project in 2022, following the award of connection agreements in 2021.
Kincardine will deliver a 40-year design life, providing long-term support for integrating cleaner power generation to ensure grid stability in a key region for the United Kingdom to reach its Net Zero goals.
After the conclusion of commercial operations, the project site will be restored according to an approved decommissioning plan, land agreements, and applicable legislation.
